It’s been a busy few weeks at hosted.md, and we’re excited to share some big updates. Two major features have just rolled out for our beta users, along with plenty of smaller improvements behind the scenes.
Custom Domain Support is Now Live
One of the most requested features is finally here. You can now connect your own custom domain to your hosted.md site. Whether you want your personal blog to live at yourname.com or your project docs at docs.yourproject.com, it’s now possible.
During the beta, this feature will be available to testers while we continue refining the setup flow. Early feedback has been really helpful, and we’re already making adjustments to make domain linking smoother for everyone.
GitHub Integration Has Arrived
The second major release is our new GitHub integration. You can now link your GitHub account directly to hosted.md, giving you the option to either create a brand new repository or connect an existing one that already contains Markdown content.
Once connected, hosted.md will take care of setting up your site automatically. If you’re using an existing repo, it’ll index your Markdown files and get your site online within seconds.
We’ve also added webhook support, so any time you push updates to your repository, your hosted.md site will rebuild automatically. You can also trigger rebuilds manually if you prefer more control.
This is a big step towards our goal of making hosted.md a natural fit for developers who want to keep their content versioned, open, and in sync with their code.
Other Improvements
Alongside these features, we’ve rolled out a handful of bug fixes and general stability updates. Nothing flashy, but everything adds up to make the experience smoother and more reliable.
What’s Next
Our next focus is preparing for the public launch. That means setting up billing and subscription plans, as well as adding onboarding emails to help new users get started quickly.
We’re also working on a way for users to create and upload their own themes, which will open up even more possibilities for personalisation. Once these pieces are in place, hosted.md will be ready for everyone to try out.
